Project Overview
ACS Professionals in Construction Ltd appointed our team to deliver the full electrical installation for Phase One of the Kingston Grammar School redevelopment project. This ambitious upgrade was part of the school’s broader modernisation program, designed to enhance learning environments and improve energy efficiency across the site.
The works were carried out during the 8-week summer holiday window, presenting a challenging but achievable deadline. The objective: complete a comprehensive electrical installation — from containment and power distribution to lighting and life safety systems — ready for the new academic term. Phase 1 is part of an 18month contract to fully refurbish the Fairfield building.
Scope of Works
Our electrical package included:
- Full containment and cabling installation
- New lighting and emergency lighting systems
- Medem Gas safety panels
- Small power distribution throughout classrooms and communal areas
- Data infrastructure
- Testing, inspection, and certification prior to handover
Challenges
The main challenge was the incredibly tight 8-week program, which coincided with other trades working on-site. Coordinating schedules and maintaining consistent progress required precise planning, daily coordination meetings, and close collaboration with ACS Professionals in Construction Ltd and the school’s project management team.
Despite these constraints, the project was delivered on time, within budget, and to the client’s full satisfaction.
Results
Phase One was successfully handed over before the start of the new school term. The upgraded facilities now benefit from:
- Enhanced energy efficiency through LED lighting and smart controls
- Improved reliability of electrical systems for long-term performance
- Modern, safe, and compliant installations ready for student use
Following the success of Phase One, we are proud to be continuing into Phase Two, further extending our involvement in Kingston Grammar School’s redevelopment journey.
