Summer works refurbishment with electrical and mechanical upgrades

Scope of project

Redlands was nominated by the client as the M&E contractor on this summer works refurbishment project.

The scope of works on this project included the installation of new power and lighting which included 600 x 600 LED panels with power pole containment and dado trunking to a new- build  area on the second floor a and communal kitchen combined with a breakout area. We also installed self-test emergency lighting throughout this project. The construction tasks comprised of new mechanical installations, data modifications with supplies to mechanical plant.

Features include LED lighting in operational areas including classrooms and three phase supply into the combination ovens in the kitchen.  The mechanical elements in this project was the supply and installation of air conditioning and ventilation in the new build and kitchen areas.

Building & Fabric work

Redlands was instructed to carry out a full refurbishment of the male and female toilets which consisted of the termination and strip out of all electrical and plumbing services and the installation of new power, lighting, emergency lighting and hand dryers. All hot and cold-water feeds required modification and the waste was renewed and a Saniflow system was installed. We supplied and installed all sanitaryware that included a cubicle system along with wall-mounted urinals and cap and cove flooring with decoration to finish.
