We realise that our service range is a comparatively new one that grows in line with more people buying the latest EV and hybrid models. If you want to know more about electric car charging at home, or electric car charging points for businesses, this page should answer any questions you may have.

It also provides an insight into OZEV grants and could save you as much as £350.00 on the cost of an installation at your Kingston, Surrey & London home or workplace.

What are OZEV grants and the Workplace Charge Scheme?

The Workplace Charge Scheme (WCS) or OZEV grant provides eligible applicants with vouchers to support the initial cost of an electric car charging point installation. The grant contributes up to 75% on the purchase and installation cost to a maximum of £350.00, covers 2 points for electric car charging at home and up to 20 electric car charging points for businesses.

We can help with your submission to the online application portal which, if successful, provides you with a voucher code by email that you can pass onto us ahead of the installation date. There is a four-month validity period on issued vouchers.

Your voucher confirms your eligibility for the OZEV grant but, without the unique ID code, we cannot guarantee you will receive the discount.

Redlands has already helped a sizeable proportion of its previous Kingston, Surrey, and London customers to obtain OZEV grants for electric car charging point installations.

How does the electric car charger installation process work?

Following your initial enquiry on electric car charging at home or electric car charging points for businesses, we contact you to arrange a suitability survey with a member of our team. The survey identifies the best location for an EV or hybrid charging point, and how you can park your vehicle to use it. Redlands can then price for a standard installation or, if the job requires extra trenching, cabling, or consumer unit work, we adjust our quotation accordingly.

We complete the paperwork for electric car charging points onsite and, subject to your eligibility for a OZEV grant, we ask registered keepers and lease holders to sign the required documentation.

We can sometimes fit electric car charging points at the time of our first visit for standard installations but usually return on an agreed date for jobs that require extra work.
